FAQs - Jet ski insurance and personal watercraft insurance
Here are some of the questions we are often asked. If you can’t
find the answer to your question, please call us and talk to
our helpful, RYA trained team.
How far out to sea can I go on my Personal
Watercraft?
Your policy will operate for a distance of
up to 12 miles offshore.
My 14 year old son wants to use my jet ski.
Will he be covered?
Not unless you tell us and he is capable of
safely handling the craft. We recommend that all potential users
take the Personal Watercraft course approved by the RYA. You must
tell us about any user of your jet ski who is under 21.
I am going on holiday to Spain this year and
intend taking my PW. Should I make any special arrangements?
Your policy covers you to take your PW to
the continent of Europe for up to 30 days; we suggest you contact
us as certain countries request a copy of your insurance policy
schedule in their own language. Also check to see if any specific
licences or permits are needed to launch and use your craft.
I have got a dry suit, helmet and life vests
that are worth about £500. What is the best way to cover them?
This type of item would be best covered
under the “All Risks” section or your home contents policy. In this
way they will be covered at any location. Our staff will be pleased
to give you more advice.
